The roads of Grand Cayman are becoming more challenging to navigate. With more roundabouts and lanes for drivers to use, being an alert and careful driver is a must. As a driver of a vehicle of any sort or size, you must drive not only for yourself but for other road users. Proper signaling and turning are necessary to operate without having an accident.

Using your mirrors and signals properly is a crucial component when driving your car. You should check your side mirrors and rearview mirror frequently; this is not only the right thing to do but will always makes you an alert and aware driver. Being a courteous driver and having respect for other road users will ensure that you make it from point A to point B safely.  


Cayman Driver’s Ed is here to help you achieve this and to become a better driver. With our lessons, it will give you more confidence in sitting your government test, making you comfortable both on the road and taking the theory test. We can only hope that after you have achieved your full CI driver’s license, that you will continue to practice being a good & smart driver. Driving a vehicle is not a right, but rather a privilege, which if abused, can be taken away. Therefore, being an intelligent vehicle operator is incredibly essential. Biography of Mr. Luke O McCoy (ADI) & Chris Stewart (ADI).

Luke McCoy, a native Caymanian, hails from the District of North Side. Luke has achieved much in experience and education during his lifetime. He started his career as a Royal Cayman Islands Police Officer in 1984 assigned to the specialist department (traffic Unit) where he was highly respected and recognized as one of the RCIP’S most professional drivers. Mr. McCoy have advance driving skills, which he received on island from UK police driving instructors, as well as from the Florida Highway Patrol, on his own expense and time during his law enforcement career. He has a passion for driving, professional driving. Mr. McCoy later was transferred to the (CID)Criminal Investigation Department as a crime scene specialist. He received five (5) commendations from the Commissioner of Police for outstanding investigation and duty performance during his 10-year tenure, one of which for a high-speed pursuit which was successful in a drug arrest and conviction. Luke is also one of the few that have achieved (ADI) status “Approved Driving Instructor” from DVLD “Department of Vehicle & Driver’s License” Cayman Islands. This is a requirement when teaching/coaching individuals on a professional level, as a driving instructor in the Cayman Islands. These standards are like that of the UK ADI’s. Mr. McCoy also appears on the Register of ADI’s, for the Cayman Island.


 Chris Stewart - ADI
Chris was born in Derbyshire in the UK and grew up having a keen interest in motorbikes. He rode his first motorbike at the age of 10 and spent the next few years taking part in junior trials events. 
As a teenager Chris was also heavily involved in the Army Cadet Force where is also developed a keen interest in target rifle shooting and represented the battalion at Bisley. He also obtained his Gold Duke of Edinburgh award.
Chris passed his UK manual driving test in November 1990 and obtained his full motorcycle licence the following year.
In 1996 Chris obtained his Class 2 Heavy Good Vehicle licence.
Chris then joined Leicestershire Police and achieved his advanced police driving qualification in 2006. During Chris’s 25 years police service he has been a pursuit driver, surveillance driver and a detective specialising in the investigation of serious and organised crime.
In 2013 Chris met his Caymanian wife Tasha, who was in the UK studying at Birmingham University.
Chris left the UK police force in 2021 and now lives in the Cayman Island with his wife.
